Categories: Procurement Outsourcing is categorized into two broad classifications

Direct Procurement: Direct procurement, as the name suggests is related to goods purchased by vendors and suppliers and making them enter directly into production process. This activity needs extreme management of time and record of inventory. Since the material purchased is entering production process directly, then there should be no time gap between supplying and processing. Moreover inventory management should be at optimum. Most production Companies involve management of ingredients and packaging as direct procurement activities.

Indirect Procurement: Market research, IT related services, HR, facility management, securities, after sales services, and other related activities are included in Indirect Procurement.

Market research includes media buying, advertising, customer response, and other such activities. IT as the name suggests is related to software and hardware involved in main line of business. Some Companies outsource recruitment and training agencies to upgrade their professional staff for efficient working. It is not essential that Company has to have office services managed by them. Electricity, water, telecom, catering, furniture and other such related activities take up lot of time, leading to involvement in unnecessary work. It is best to opt for procurement outsourcing from relevant Outsourcing Contact Centers.
