The wedding rings are something more than following the ritual

Wedding is one of the most joyful events in one’s life. The union of the two souls during the wedding brings in a beginning of a new chapter in one’s life. And thus this special event of one’s life is celebrated with various customs. Some of the customs are confined to certain communities only and some of these are has a world wide acceptance. These customs are followed throughout most of the communities and countries of the world. One of such widely followed custom is the exchange of the wedding rings between the bride and the groom during their marriage. As because of its world wide acceptance and as this custom is followed throughout the world and so many cultures and communities follows this tradition that there is sure to be some changes for different communities. But though there are diversities the basic concept of the exchange of the rings still remains the same. This is such a custom that has come across ages and still the popularity has not been dimmed even by an inch.

The exchange ceremony plays a very vital role in one’s marriage and the ring worn by the bride or the groom symbolic representation of marriage itself. It is a symbol that indicates one’s commitment and loyalty to his or her spouse. The wedding rings are made of different elements. Most commonly precious metals like gold, silver, white gold or platinum are used as the base element for the ring. And according to the most common tradition the wedding ring is worn on the fourth finger of the left hand. There is a traditional belief that there is a vein that generates from the forth finger of the left hand and goes straight to the heart. But in actual reality and according to the medical science there is no existence of any such vein. However, still in most cases the custom is followed and the bride and the groom both wear the ring on the fourth finger of the left hand.

As for the metal of the ring gold is the most preferred choice. Most of the people are in favor of choosing gold as the material for the wedding ring. Not only does it looks great but also fits the tradition perfectly. The magnificent charm of the gold brings in a new glitter in the lovely relationship. But these days it is seen that in case of the wedding ring yellow gold is often replaced by white metals like platinum or white gold. No wonder that the platinum ring brings with itself a great charm and flavor to the wedding. Even white gold an alloy of gold and other white metals like nickel, silver or palladium is also quite in demand these days. If you want a costly white gold ring you can then go for the gold and palladium alloy or if your pocket cannot afford that much then you can choose other less costly metals like nickel or silver along with gold. Whatever may be the ring made of the main thing is that it is the symbol of your ever lasting love for your beloved therefore choose your wedding ring carefully for her.
