Grout application is an important aspect of tile installation. You can't ignore it. Earlier, grout was available in white color only. Now, you can get several colors and combinations of grout. The colorful grout acts as an advantage when you install mosaic wall tiles. However, what matters the most is your grout installation technique. A minor mistake can have unfavorable consequences in long run. So, follow these instructions carefully to avoid any mistakes.
1. Firstly, mix the grout powder in water. Add water slowly and stir thoroughly. Every grout has different preparation technique. Hence, you should follow the instructions on the grout leaflet. Don't forget to cover the wall tiles with a cover else some grout would fall on the surface.
2. Take a grout float and place the grout mixture on its edge. Now, insert the grout mixture inside the gap between consecutive wall tiles. Fill the mixture thoroughly so that there's no vacant space between the tiles. You can take small sections at a time and grout them perfectly.
3. Now, take a bucket of warm water and wipe the grouted wall tile with it. Wipe gently so that the excess grout gets scrapped away. You can also notice small holes in the grout line. Fill them with fresh grout mixture and wipe the tiles gain. You should ensure that the tile joints are completely filled with grout.
4. Now, cover all the tile joints with grout mixture. Grout small portions at a time. Ideally, you should grout the wall tiles from top to bottom. This makes the process simple and clean.
5. Now, leave the wall untouched for 24 hours. When the grout dries, spray a grout sealer on the joints. Repeat the sealing process after one hour. Two to three sealant coats work best to secure your wall tiles.
So, follow these steps one after another and notice remarkable endurance in your tile installations.
