Raising The Stature Of Your Small Store In Your Community

Your little corner store can be much more important than you realize. You can provide people with more than eggs and milk. If you become more involved in the community you will become larger in everyone's eyes. It is a simple process that builds over time. You will grow a larger customer base and community standing. You can make your place of business something that the locals want to keep around. If you manage this then your future will be so much more rosy and pleasant.

There is a trend that has become more and more prevalent in cities. People are moving closer in. Gas is expensive, and a commute takes so much time away from better activities. With all this moving going on there is a resurgence of energy and interest. People are buying old house in previously neglected inner city areas. These are usually the same areas that have the corner store. If your store in in the inner city then you are there at a good time. More people with more money are moving in. These are the same people that will become involved in the community as well.

Give your store a visual once over from the customer perspective. If it looks the same as it has for the past 10 years or so then you need to shine things up. Take advantage of the bones of the building. If it is an old one then make your improvements give it a quaint feeling. Uncover that big picture window out front that you have a bunch of ads on. Repair and repaint your sign and the front of the building too if it needs it. Put in planters. You can build and install some brick planters that will look beautiful when filled with flowers. You could even put some umbrellas and tables out front. After all that you need to reach out to the community.

If you don't know about the neighborhood groups close to you, look online to see if any are listed. They may have even approached you before looking for donations. Instead of money you can give your time. Whenever you do anything involving the community remember to bring a bunch of promotional items. You want to do good things for your community and you need to get credit for it as well. These groups are great to have around because they are the people who live there and are working for a better neighborhood.

There will be plenty of different times that people in your group will get together for a cause. There are houses to paint for old folks and other house projects that they may need. Each time they do something like this you can have some of your company caps available to give to people that are volunteering. You and your business will be thanked by the community and that means more publicity.

Promotional hats are perfect for community service events. Promotional items show everyone that your business is helpful and does positive things for the neighborhood.
