The most important tip is to be independent.

Just because you are married to some, does not mean that you will completely become dependent on your life partner. At times, you tend to forget about how different you two are, because you've been living together for so long in this matrimony tie. Don't ever forget that you are a different human being and unique in your own way that’s why your life partner got attracted to you at first place. Try to take on some different interest and encourage your husband / wife to do so as well.

Try to control your anger if your partner is also angry

Usually, when you're angry, you don’t want to hear nothing else and you don't really care about anything else. If you feel that both you and your partner are angry, try to you’re your spouse some space. The best thing to do is to calm down. Be receptive to each other's ups and downs. Always talk through the problem and listen to each other. Just abandon the whole world rather than abandoning each other. Other very important thing, don’t sleep till the time the argument is not resolved. Last but not the least, never ever yell at each other unless the house is on fire.

If you don’t agree to your partner, tell it gracefully

After your marriage, there will be times when you and your spouse won't agree at all in some aspects. Make sure, that you don't make your point sound like a criticism. It really doesn't matter who is right or who is wrong. Always keep this thing in mind that an argument doesn't need a winner or a loser.

Never bring up issues of the past

Whenever something goes wrong, avoid bring your past issues in between. Don't get into past so much that you become blind with the wonderful things ahead of your relationship.

At least once every day, try to compliment your life partner

Generally after a few years of marriage, a couple often forgets about basic courtesy, which they should show to each other. Is it really right to talk to your life partner in such a rude manner? Perhaps by using sweet words or by addressing your life partner politely, your each sentence would make it sound so much better. Always remember; never take your life partner for granted.

Showing or telling each other that how much you care will, definitely, help keep your relationship fresh. By saying something as simple as complementing the looks of your spouse or by buying a little unexpected gift, you can cheer up your life partner. Try to say those things that would make your partner feel appreciated. To follow these tips, it is very important to lower your pride. Though pride is a good thing and keeps your head high in public, not with your life partner. Try to keep the pride level down with your life partner; because it becomes a wall your partner would have to overcome.
