Baby first language

Language is not only the one spoken or recognized as on international level. Babies have their own way of communicating and interacting. It will be a astonishing for many people that the baby can understand things without knowing any language. Not only had this they can even make one understood their need or mood without using any verbal language. This can be termed as the baby’s first language. Crying is apart of this language, which can mean many things like feeling hungry, bored or dirty. This also includes showing a sense of feeling bored, Lonely or time for changing the wet nappy. Hence only the mother or the near ones taking care of the baby can understand this first language. Each baby can have its own rules for its own language and different signs expressing various moods and needs.

It’s important and great to know some common tips used generally by all the babies in their first language. If the baby is hungry, the cry will sound the most vigorous of all. This would mean that the baby needs the breast-feeding if one does that and so offering the breast for milk is the simple solution and reply for the language. If feed on bottle milk it is better to arrange it fast before the baby gets out of mood. if the baby is feeling wet or uncomfortable with the nappy he/she usually cry gently or show by their action that they are some what unsettled and unsatisfied with the clothes. Changing the nappy or checking for it to be wet is a way showing the baby that one understands his language too. If the baby cry indicates nothing of the above two than it may be the cry of wanting some one to be near. This shows that the baby is feeling alone and wants some attention and company too. Babies such signs show that they are feeling lonely and human contact is as important as food for them. At times baby show their need for sucking through thumb sucking as a part of their first language. Providing ones finger as security or being presence helps in such situation making the baby feel that there is someone to understand the unsaid also. If the babies still do not settle on fulfilling their need for hunger, change of nappy it can mean that the baby is getting bored and needs some change. Diverting the baby’s mind to some toy, book or changing the position of the baby works out here. If still all this fails it might be the cry of feeling tired or sleepy. Placing the child on the lap or providing a swing can be of some help to understand the baby’s language and need

One of the most important factors making the bonds stronger with ones baby is the communication. If one is successful understanding the baby’s first language it can work wonders to handle them and their needs. Until the baby starts speaking this can be done only through the signs shown. Signs help to communicate till the baby is able to learn the verbal language. Hence signs, expressions and gestures can be termed as the baby’s first language.
