Some people consider that the greatest joy in life is to become a parent
and to share that life with your own child.
For some people, unfortunately it is very difficult to achieve this
dream because they have difficulty falling pregnant.
A woman that is unable to naturally become pregnant after one year of
regular unprotected intercourse is classified as infertile. Women
unfortunately have the majority of the infertility problems.
Even though there are various causes of infertility more than fifty
percent of infertility problems are the results of different female
medical conditions.
The other halve of the infertility conditions are due to male sperm
disorders and other unexplained causes.
The very first important thing for a woman to fall pregnant is that she
needs to have proper and regular menstruation. Ovulation problems are
one of the most common causes of infertility.
Closely followed by uterine, tubal blockage and prior tubal ligation
problems that cause infertility. With age a womens fertility drop
drastically as part of the normal aging process and this is also a major
cause of infertility. The ability to fall pregnant earlier rather than
later become more important if you consider that a women lose almost a
1000 eggs every month.
PCOS, PID and endometriosis also worsen as women age and can lead to
infertility if left too late. Pelvic Inflammatory Disease caused by
infections, especially if left untreated, can be a serious problem of
infertility. These infections that are caused by the bacteria when they
get into the fallopian tubes, ovaries and surrounding tissue can cause
scarring that block the fallopian tubes.
If natural pregnancy cannot happen because of these conditions then IVF
might be an option. Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) is a hormonal
disorder that interfere with a womans normal cycle of ovulation and is a
leading cause of infertility.
Hormone levels should always be checked especially if PCOS is suspected.
Most symptoms of PCOS can be reduced by medication, but it is the bodies
ability to handle the insulin levels that in most cases help correct the
hormone levels.
Diseases that affect the hypothalamus, pancreas, ovaries, testes,
pituitary, adrenal or thyroid glands will all have an effect on the
hormones.
The lifestyle of both partners in the relationship can also help or
hinder fertility. Smoking, too much alcohol, weight, stress and exercise
are all lifestyle issues that contribute to infertility.
Trying to fall pregnant can be very stressful, especially if doctors
can't find any specific cause for this unexplained infertility.
Particularly if pregnancy doesn't happen right away the first time. The
most helpful thing in falling pregnant is to not stress out and to get a
better understanding of when ovulation occur.
