Embrace your life exactly as it is. Embrace yourself exactly as you are.

I have been practicing embracing things as they are this month. This morning I was inspired to open the book 'The Precious Present' by Spencer Johnson (which has been sitting on my shelf for 10 years) to a random page. This is what I read 'The present is what is. It is precious. Even if I do not know why. It is already the way it is supposed to be. When I see the present, accept the present, and experience the present I am well and I am happy. Pain is the difference between what is and what I want it to be.'

We have learned that we can only feel happy when things are going well, when there is something to feel happy about. That is not true! You can feel happy for no reason at all. You have the ability and it's easy. You just decide that everything in your life is perfect the way it is. Try it. You don't have enough money? No biggie. People in your life are unhappy with you? So what?

Your kids are screaming? They are great at expressing their genuine selves!

You do not have to fix anything. Your happiness does not depend on the circumstances around you. You are free to feel happy in every moment as soon as you let go of your resistance to what is. Stop trying to make things what you want them to be and accept them the way they are. Accept YOU the way YOU are because you are PERFECT exactly as you are... not when you lose 20 pounds, not when you meet your partner, not when there is harmony in all your relationships or when you have enough money to pay the bills... NOW.

What you resist persists so make peace with where you are. That is the first step towards manifesting everything you want. You will still have dreams. Honor them and pay attention to your desires. Accepting where you are does not mean letting go of your dreams. Embrace where you are and hold your dreams at the same time. Just trust that everything you desire is coming. As Abraham-Hicks says, 'Drop the Oars.' Relax and let the stream carry you to where you want to be. There is no need to paddle upstream. Enjoy the ride.
