Great weight loss results can only come from one place: a focused mind. Your body can only go where your mind first visits. Therefore, it is usually much more important to prepare your mind before trying to lose weight, instead of your body.

This is not-conventional wisdom. Conventional wisdom will have you believing your diet is off, or your exercise program needs to be upgraded. The truth is, for you to get weight loss to occur in a steady and predictable manner, the only thing needing upgrade is your view on the subject itself.

If you resist the steps necessary to produce the weight loss you desire then it’s not the diet or the exercise that’s the problem, it’s you. You are setting up a mental barrier, a mental resistance that stops your mind from accepting the reality of your situation. No matter what you try at that point: new diets, new exercise gadgets, new diet pills, they won’t help you.

Your mind is like a shield, filtering what you consider to be good and bad. If something is considered bad, like a new diet that you “wish” you didn’t have to do. Or exercise that you think about in a negative manner whenever you “think” about it. Those are negative messages that eventually take a toll on your desire to lose weight.

And depending on your desire, depending on your focus, it’s only a matter of time before you quit trying to lose weight all together. Start. Quit. Start. Quit. Why even go through with it? Seems like a waste of time, doesn’t it? Why not make a huge commitment to embrace the process to begin with, so you can skip all those starts and stops?

Weight loss is not a point in time when you can put on a new pair of pants and that’s it. If you want to be lean and healthy for the rest of your life, then you will have to engage in some kind of activity to make that happen. This is why its best to embrace the weight loss process now, instead of resisting it and jumping the gun every time a new diet pill hits the market.
