Landscaping your front yard and your back yard are two different things. If you think that you can do what you just did to your front on your back yard, think again. The front yard is the façade of your beautiful home where aesthetics matter above everything else but the back yard? It is the place where you want to relax so it should be cosy and comfort should be highly considered.

So how should you start beautifying your back yard? Start with a theme first, you can choose from beach, Zen or Italian garden, etc. The list is endless depending on your needs and likes. The web, TV programmes and wide range of gardener’s guides will offer you lots of ideas to choose from. Just for example, when you have chosen Zen and have that little sanctuary in your back yard. You might want to wall it with bamboo or Japanese shrubs to enclose your space, to give you privacy from the rest of the world.

If it is a huge back yard that you are renovating, you might want to divide it into smaller sections, so as different activities could be done simultaneously in different areas. You can use Hokongo-in, a Japanese shrub to divide the sections. A small fountain or a tiny pond can also be installed in your garden - but you need to make sure you can provide proper water supply for their functioning. They can be like a real jewel against a background of green. You can make it more eye-catching by putting Koi fish there. This is a very decorative species available in many colours and patterns. Make sure that the Japanese varieties I have mentioned are available in your area before laying-out the plans. If it is not possible to place the tiny pond in your garden, opt to install an outdoor Zen fountain which is readily available in stores. These fountains are said to create a feeling of well being and peace. Aside from its decorative features, these are believed to help balance energy and foster harmony in the area. With a properly sectionalized back yard, a few Japanese shrubs and a tiny pond or Zen fountain, you’re on your way to a real relaxation sanctuary.

Who wouldn’t want a back yard like this? But then again don’t stress out yourself too much.

Just make plan before starting any purchases or other activities connected with creation of a landscape garden. It may sound trivial but it is a good base for further actions. Think of theme, flowers, shrubs, colours or garden structures you want to have. Think of lights, even the shades you find relaxing and nice. Then it would be best if you could consult your plans with a professional garden designer. His opinion could be very helpful. And if you haven’t got enough time you can always ask professional gardeners to perform this task for you.

These were just mere suggestions to beautify your back yard. Use your imagination to bring the ideas into life. And then, enjoy your back yard as you beautify it.
