Directed by Phyllida Lloyd and choreographed by Anthony van Laast, Mamma Mia! has music and lyrics by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, the male half of the famous super group – ABBA. Featuring 22 of the groups’ greatest hits, including Dancing Queen, The Winner Takes It All, Take A Chance on Me, Super Trouper, S.O.S., and Knowing Me, Knowing You, among others, Mamma Mia! previewed on October 5, 2001, and opened on October 18, 2001 at the Winter Garden Theater. It opened with more than a years tickets all sold out!
