Do you want to know a few home remedies for whiteheads that work? Have you been a victim of acne for what feels like forever? Have you tried endless products and cleansers with no results? You came to the right place. These recipes I have are proven to help treat many forms of acne that many people just like you are suffering from.
Fresh fruits and veggies are great for your skin because they provide you with many essential vitamins and minerals. Try making a smoothie or just adding an extra serving of vegetables at one of your meals. Snaking on nuts can also be good for your skin. Especial Brazil nuts and pumpkin seeds because they are a good source of selenium and zinc.
Sebum is a lubricant which every pore in your body creates. This is very essential to moisturize the skin as well as to keep it healthy. Problem arises when sebum gets blocked in a pore. The blocked sebum oxidizes and turns black if the pore remains open and this is called a blackhead. If the pore gets closed, white colored bacterial remains accumulated inside and this is called a whitehead.
Comedones are tiny bumps that affect the skin, making it rough to the touch, and these bumps can be dark, white or skin colored. Most people know comedones by their more commonly used names - blackheads and whiteheads. These comedones are found at the opening of the pores on the skin, and on those prone to acne are usually found around the chin and forehead areas.
First lets look at what exactly is happening within the skin that causes a whitehead. Every pore on your body creates oil, called sebum. Sebum lubricates and moisturizes your skin to keep it healthy. Problems begin to present themselves whenever the pore that the sebum is released from becomes blocked. If the pore remains open then the sebum will oxidize and turn black.
Mix milk with nutmeg. Milk can be found in your refrigerator of course! If you do not have nutmeg, it can be found at your local grocery store and is very cheap. Mix the two ingredients together until you form a paste. Apply directly to affected areas and let the chemicals do the work.
Take care of your skin by washing with oil-free products twice daily. You can also use an exfoliate on your skin daily to smooth out the skin. Don’t be afraid to use oil-free moisturizers on the skin – if your face gets too dry, it will only increase the oil production and cause more breakouts.
Put a hot wet compress or towel on the whitehead spot to widen the pore. Gently pop it out using a clean, sterile needle. Make sure your hands, the needle, and the compressor have been cleaned up thoroughly with alcohol and warm water so as not to infect the affected pores.
One of the best regimens to specifically combat whiteheads is the incorporation of exfoliation. Exfoliate your skin with a mild facial scrub and a gentle massaging action. You have to make sure to do this gently because intense rubbing can cause some damage to your skin like breaks and wounds. This will likely produce more problems like scarring later.
