The ancestors of our beloved boxer dog breed were large working dogs. Back before the boxers existed as we know them today, gods weren't used as pets but instead usually as helpers for various tasks. Whenever there was a need hunting for large wild animals, they were called forth. Boxer possesses all properties, necessary for the special duty dog, and can also live in apartment just fine as long they get regular exercise. They are playful dogs too so if you want a dog that will sit quietly at home all day, boxers wouldn't be the right choice for you. Sure they like sitting by their owner calmly too, but boxers are well known for their energetic personality. Even as adults they express many qualities that they had when they were just pups. They will still enjoy going to the park to play a good game of fetch or to just run around the field while sniffing out the tracks of a wild animal that recently has ran by there.

Boxers are amazing dogs but certainly aren't for everyone.
