Hard wired installing is really a hard way to install the wires around your house. It takes hours of pain taking methods and one as to memorize those lengthy procedures which makes it to install these security systems. Whereas the wireless home security system ensures us to sacrifice these cables and makes it easier for us to install them at any corner of our house. Pre-wiring is a method which includes installing additional outlets at given points which can be used later.
One can also use standard sensors at various spots to upgrade the systems for later uses. Standard sensors can be connected to your system quickly and with a greater pace, these hard wired systems can also be used to fix smoke or fire detectors and alarms at the same time.
Maintaining a hard wired system means it has more visible components that need to be routinely opened up and checked. Moreover the hard wired systems work on electricity which means if there is a power failure they are tend to slow down or will stop functioning till the recovery of the electricity. This is not in the case of wireless home security system, they are helped by the batteries which mean if there is an electricity break down they will still be able to function. But, the owner must check the batteries and ensure that the batteries are recharged at regular intervals.
Hard-wired systems are based on old-fashioned wiring this gives a greater disadvantage for the appliances because if they are accidentally cut then one may loose the signals and the footage that is being reordered. There are also higher chances of electrocution, since the security systems are been wired, they are operated by electricity which gives a higher risk of getting electrocuted.
The wireless home security system works on batteries, which means there is no risk of electrocution. But the owner has to keep in mind that these wireless appliances must be recharged regularly.
One can install wired systems during the construction of the house, which makes it convenient to install the wires into the walls. Whereas in wireless appliances, they can be mounted at any corner of the wall by using two to three screws. The wireless home security systems work on radio frequencies, and are notorious for triggering false alarms. The installation of wireless system can be done by installing only one cable from your central receiver to your alarm system.
The wireless home security system comes at a higher cost rates which becomes difficult to purchase them. Whereas the wired appliances comes at an affordable price, but still we have to pay an additional charge to get the equipment fixed.
One of the major features of the wireless home security system is that the wireless appliances are controlled by a unit known as "brain". This unit receives signals from the switches and triggers the alarm.
Other fundamental features of the wireless home security system are that the control unit can be powered by mains or battery. This means that there is battery back up power which will automatically recharge when the power is regained.
Both the systems consist of advantages and disadvantages. The wireless system is not more prone to failure because of its intrinsic reliance on radio frequencies, but also it gives a disadvantage as it is simple and has more parts to it, therefore more things can go wrong.
