Diabetes is a disease where your blood sugar glucose or blood sugar level is very high. Glucose is needed by the body for energy, but having glucose that is too high in the blood is risky. If you take good care of your diabetes, you will feel better. The dangers of the problems of the eyes, kidney, nerves, teeth, feet and legs will be reduced if diabetes is taken cared of religiously. Aerobic exercise is an activity which involves the use of big muscles and keeps the heart strike faster. Some examples of aerobic exercise are: brisk walking, hiking, dancing, playing tennis, swimming, playing basketball or volleyball etc.

Strength training can be done at home. This activity can assist you in your daily chores easily, improves balance and coordination and also the health of the bones. This exercise is done through the use of hand weights, weight machines and elastic bands.

Stretching helps to increase flexibility, lowers stress and assists in the prevention of muscle soreness after some exercise.

Before doing these activities, you have to ask first your dietitian or doctor about your daily schedule. Consider the meal plan and your medicines in your decision when to do the exercise.

When your glucose is above 300 and you exercise, your level goes higher. It is good not to exercise until the blood sugar goes down. Also, exercise is not suggested if the fasting blood sugar is more than 250 and key tones are present in the urine.

After exercise try to check your glucose level how it was affected by the physical activity.
