To be able to keep your freestyle skills at the highest level, you need to practice writing your own lyrics. You can commit about four hours a day just simply writing lyrics.

Once you have created your lyrics, you want to practice rapping using the lyrics you have written. Whenever you write, you should focus on rhyming. Now when you find yourself really focusing on freestyling, you dont want to target your rhymes. However, the opposite is true when you're writing your lyrics. You need to focus on your rhyming.

During the time that you are spending writing your lyrics, you'll be spending lots of time using your brain to think of some creative rhymes. These lyrics will be part of your rhyming vocabulary. You may find that you could incorporate most of your rhymes in any of your freestlyes.

Get a journal and begin composing. Write every day preferably creating at least one song a day. Again you want to bear in mind that you'll want to rap these lyrics regularly also so that you practice composing and rapping. Watch your lyrics develop into a part of your vocabulary.

Part of writing lyrics is to have material to draw from. Sometimes your mind can go blank and you feel as if you don't have any material. When you get to this point it is time to just stop. Put your pencil down, close your eyes and let your senses go to work.

At this point never use your sight. I like to close my eyes and start off using my hearing sense. We get so busy that we often do not take the time to concentrate to the world around us. When you are in the country, stop and listen to the sounds of nature. Listen for different bird sounds. Listen to hear in the event you hear a frog or perhaps a cricket. Listen to the sounds of the wind blowing, the trees swaying in the wind. Listen for any sounds of equipment running or the sounds of cars and trucks. This gives you an idea of how you can use your ears.

Another sense that i like to take the time to use is actually my sense of smell. I see if I can smell anything cooking, or smell some animals, or smell the flowers. There are just so many things that we can sense whenever we use our sense of smell.

These are just several samples of techniques that you can come up with material to write about once we allow ourselves stop and use the senses that God gifted us.
