About 20 or so years ago the concept of online lessons for guitar was a far off distant notion. In fact, it didn't exist. The closest you could get was video instruction from your local video rental store and I want to tell you, it stunk! The only method that truly worked was private instruction. Let's go ahead and take a look at the different types of instruction that was available and I'll explain why online lessons for guitar is the wave of the future.

Class Room Instruction For Guitar

This was a great concept. However, for who? The student? I think not! This was better for the instructor. You see, the instructor could teach many students at once leveraging his or her time with little one on one help with the students. Another thing they didn't' consider was that every student learns at a different pace. Which means the quick learners were bored and the slow learners were lost and frustrated! This was clearly not tailored to the student.

Private Instruction For Guitar

Until recently this was the best and only way to go. You could get private one on one attention from the instructor who could go over the mistakes being made and get you back on track. However, this was very expensive and you only saw the instructor once per week. What if you were excelling at a high rate of learning? You had to wait till next week to get the next lesson to move on. Or worse yet, you had the wrong form and the next time you met this was pointed out and you just wasted a whole week playing with the incorrect technique!

Online Lessons For Guitar

Now this is where it gets good! Online lessons for guitar is by far the way to go. You are able to learn at your own speed. You can also rewind or play the videos at slower speeds to see exactly from all different camera angles where you need to place your fingers. Another great thing about online lessons for guitar are the included extra tools that make playing guitar fun! Like jam along tracks, guitar tuners and even tools to help you learn popular songs of today. Plus, the latest techniques are always updated with a multitude of different instructors to fulfill your needs.
