Don't worry, I'm not going to bore you with the environmental benefits of solar power but instead I want to cut to the chase. In terms of investments, solar power is about to turn into one of the greatest investments that you can possible make. So much that you really won’t be able to afford to live without the benefits of solar power.

Everybody is well aware of the big dollar government bailout but to help pay back some of that debt, Obama's new 2010 budget included a very costly cap-and-trade energy tax on oil, natural gas, and coal. There is a lot of speculation by the White House that over the following 8 years this energy tax could amount to more than $2 trillion. And do not think this is a short term problem because this energy tax will continue until the year 2050.

Just to provide you with an idea of the impact, at the moment the current average cost of home energy is $112.32 every month. But you can anticipate the new energy tax to drive it up to an expected $562.67. So if you are not crazy about spending an extra $450 each month on your home energy costs then you will have to depend on the benefits of solar power just to make ends meet.

Obama knows precisely what this is going to do to people. This is all part of his strategic plan to help give solar power a shot at competing with the bigger and monopolizing oil, coal, and natural gas companies.

So think long and hard about these 3 benefits of solar power.

#1 Benefit of Solar Power - It Cannot Be Regulated

The fact that solar power can't be regulated is probably the most important of all benefits. This would mean that the government is unable to tax the solar energy that you make yourself at home.

#2 Benefit of Solar Power - It Does not Follow the Same Economic Laws as Oil, Coal, and Natural Gas

Coal, oil, and natural gas are all tradable commodities so they have to adhere to the law of supply and demand which can drive prices way up. So if the demand raises, so does the price.

But solar energy doesn't fall prey to these same economic laws because it is not a tradable commodity. This is because the demand can never be greater than the supply which will never be depleted.

#3 Benefit of Solar Power - You Cannot Beat Free

Solar power doesn’t cost anything. Sure there is a cost associated with the materials you need to take advantage of solar power but the price of the energy itself is free. But provided the new energy tax, the cost of a solar energy system will pale in comparison with the total cost of energy for decades to come.

What it boils down to is that solar energy is the most abundant, free, and economically secure energy source out there. Additionally you can include all of those lesser yet very logical benefits to the mix. The other choice is to start planning an additional $450 into your monthly finances.
