If you’ve ever looked for a Wholesaler you’ll no doubt have noticed that there are many ‘so called companies’ that will take your money and run. Which makes looking for a supplier in most cases a costly challenge. But does it have to be this way? – No.
I’ve been dealing with Wholesale companies for around five years and I believe my method for finding suppliers has been un-touchable and never resulted in a nasty loss. You have to think about what’s right in front of your eyes and take advantage of it.
Many of us, myself included strive for that eBay PowerSeller status as that’s where we plan to sell our goods. We type in such phrases as “iPod Nano” and see all these big sellers shifting hundreds of iPods each and every day. We then head over to Google and type in “Wholesale iPod Nano” this returns ‘useless’ information. Most give up here or even look for a new product, with the same old results. The fact is Google, MSN, Yahoo or any search engine for that matter is not the place to find suppliers. One reason being that Wholesalers are not webmasters and don’t have the large SEO budgets to get those top rankings. Likewise, as I have found many do not want these rankings they are happy to have just a few customers who will bring in orders on a weekly basis. Trust me I was an agent for the largest distributor of Games Consoles in Asia.
OK, back to eBay. This is where my secret lies those “big sellers” I talked about earlier are in fact themselves wholesale suppliers. There pricing is competitive, they have large quantities of stock to hand and you can see from there feedback that they are not scammers. So a simple message to them asking politely if they would supply you at wholesale prices in larger quantities could go a long way. Some even say ‘Contact me for Bulk pricing’. I’ve done this in the past and gone on to sell that stock at wholesale myself as well as on eBay. It may sound stupid but it does work and many people are doing it. You can look more closely at the sellers from over-seas as these will typically offer the better pricing at bulk.
The Key factors to look at from sellers are: - Number of Sales and how long they’ve been selling.
- Pricing – is it the cheapest?
- Feedback – Do they have a good record with customers?
- Payment methods accepted. Never pay via unsecure methods.
- How long it takes for them to reply to a question.
If you look for the above points you should be fine and get yourself a good supplier. Don’t knock it until you’ve tried it! Visit our Wholesale Forum for more business tactics like this and discuss wholesale with our other members.
