Let Their Imagination Run Wild While Making Fruit Pizza

Fruits can add a fun element to little one's meals. Finding fun food for children can be as easy as bringing them to the grocery store with you. Choosing fruits that are tasty and chock full of vitamins can be a fun project.

Getting kids to consume fruit can be easy when we make it fun and entertaining. Since fruit should be a staple in every family's menu, let the kids select which fruits they require to prepare a festive and interesting fruit pizza project.

You may be surprised by the fruits they choose at the farmer's market. Let the children select which fruits and vegetables they want for their at home project.

Opt for exciting or colorful fruits at the grocer or farmers' market, then turn the children loose constructing imaginative faces on this tasty fruit pizza. Chances are, they'll snack as they create--and like what they taste.

Select fruits in a variety of colors and sizes. Let the children decorate the pizza with creative faces or make other shapes on this colorful and fun pizza.

Ingredients.

Ready to bake piecrust

Filling 1/2 cup fat free or low fat cream cheese 1 tablespoon sugar 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract 1.4 teaspoon lemon juice 1 tablespoon 1% milk

Toppings Opt for strawberries for the nose, kiwi fruit or seedless grapes for the eyes, a banana for the mouth. The choices for making shapes are only limited by their imaginations. The children can choose pineapples, mandarin oranges, or any fruit they like.

Instructions: 1. Let the piecrust come to room temperature per the package instructions, then unfold it onto a large cookie sheet or pizza pan.

2. Roll up edges of the crust, crimping them gently so that they'll stay rolled up. Prick the crust lightly with a fork in about 20 places (allowing air to escape).

3. Bake the crust in a preheated 450 degree oven for about 9 minutes or until it's slightly browned.

Remove from the crust from the oven

4. Whisk together cream cheese ,sugar, and vanilla extract, lemon juice adding just enough milk to make the mix able to spread onto the crust.

*Allow the crust to cool. *Spread the cream-cheese mixture with a rubber spatula, *Spread to the edge of the crust

Now its time for the children to showcase their skills.

*Allow the children to arrange the fruit onto the cream cheese mixture. Don't worry if it is not perfect. It is perfectly healthy and fun. Children may want to add sprinkles. Let their creativity run wild.

*Refrigerate the pizza for at least 1 hour *Cut with a sharp knife and serve

The children will be impatient and want to consume the pizza immediately. This pizza cream cheese is almost already set. So when you're done cleaning up, allow the little ones to help you here. They will be anxious to taste their masterpiece.
