Are you looking for a different kind of island getaway? Menorca holidays offer unique beauties and atmosphere that is far removed from is big sister, Majorca. Menorca (the little island) is one of the Balearic Islands off the coast of Spain along with Majorca (the big one) and Ibiza. Whether you prefer a holiday villa on the coast overlooking the ocean or a stay in one of the luxurious Menorca hotels, the lovely little island has as much to offer as its bigger sister - without the crowds of tourists.
There's a little something for everyone in Menorca. Only 35 miles long, Menorca features over 120 beaches along 160 kilometers of coastline, from tiny Lovers' Beach which is just wide enough for a cozy pair of beach lovers to the two mile long stretch of white beach at Punta Prima, from the rocky coastline of la tramuntana in the north to the sand swept, silken beaches of the southern shores. If you're a history buff, Menorca boasts not only the ruins of ancient civilizations but the living history of quaint villages like Ciudadela, the island's former capital. Now accepted as the religious capital of the island, la Ciudadela (the Citadel) still features the narrow lanes of a medieval Spanish village - and some of the best restaurants in the entire world.
You'll find no better way the savor life in Menorca than in a private villa rental tucked into the hills that offer a spectacular view and all the privacy that anyone could crave. You can hire a car for the entirety of your stay from one of the local Menorca car hire companies, and be free to roam and explore at your leisure, from beaches to mountains to forest. Menorca holidays - sunny days and sparkling nights in one of the jewels off the Spanish Coast - will be among your fondest memories.
