Dandruff is one of the most ordinary scalp troubles. But it is amazing that no exact cause off dandruff is known yet. There is so no cure for dandruff, but you can heal it whenever it shows. There are many causes that trigger dandruff and some speculation about the probable causes.

The expression dandruff usually refers to the state of the skin in which shiny, silvery scales disconnect from the scalp and gather amidst the hair. The situation can become worrying when the skin gets infected.

When the hair is combed or brushed, or when the scalp is scratched, the scales from the scalp drop like snowflakes and settle on the eye brows, shoulders, and clothes. These scales occasionally appear as lumps or crusts on the scalp.

Home Remedies for Dandruff

1. Dandruff treatment with Fenugreek Seeds

The use of fenugreek seeds is one of the most essential remedies in the treatment of dandruff. Two tablespoons of these seeds must be soaked overnight in water and ground into a fine paste in the morning. This paste should be applied all over the scalp and left for about partially an hour. The hair must then be washed thoroughly with soap-nut (ritha) solution or shikakai.

2. Dandruff treatment with Lime

The use of a teaspoon of fresh lime juice for the last rinse, while washing the hair, is another helpful remedy. This not only leaves the hair shining but also removes stickiness and prevents dandruff.

3. Dandruff treatment via Green Gram Powder

A valuable prescription for elimination of dandruff is the use of green gram powder. The hair must be washed two times in a week with two tablespoons of this powder mixed with half a cup of curd.

4. Dandruff treatment via Beet

Beets have been found helpful in dandruff. Both tops and roots must be boiled in water and this water should be massaged into the scalp with the finger tips each night. White beet is superior for this purpose.

5.Dandruff treatment by means of Snake Gourd

The juice of snake gourd has been found useful in the prevention and treatment of dandruff. The juice should be rubbed over the scalp for this function.

6. Dandruff treatment with Other Remedies

Dandruff can be removed by massaging the hair for half an hour with curd which has been reserved in the open for three days, or with a few drops of lime juice mixed with amla juice each night, before going to bed. One more measure which helps to counteract dandruff is to dilute cider vinegar with an identical quantity of water and dab this on to the hair with cotton wool in-between shampooing. Cider vinegar added to the final rinsing water after shampooing also helps to disappear dandruff.
