Shabby Elegance is a term describing a method of Interior Decorating in which the old and worn is balanced with the new to create a fresh and warm appearance in a room. A typical shabby elegant decorated room, would consist of at least one piece of furniture that has been painted white with the corners lightly sanded off and roughed up a little. A coat of white paint would transform a dark dingy chair or table into something looking great. Shabby elegant décor takes what fixtures we have, mixes them with the valuables we find in attics, garage sales etc…,combines the results with an antique or two and transforms the room into something beautiful. I‘m going to leave the discussions of wrought iron, candles, fireplaces, wood carvings, and beautiful lace requirements for a shabby décor to the experts, and focus this Newsletter on the most important object in the house. The transformation required for a Shabby Elegance Decor is somewhat similar to the changes required in our own lives. That of ourselves which is Shabby can be combined with the one who is Elegant. The result is a transformation of the Shabby into something beautiful. The Heavens have declared that , “All have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God.” Thus, everyone is a Shabby individual who needs whitewashed from the inside out with an Elegant and everlasting paint in order to be acceptable to God. The whitewashing occurs as we begin to know God, and begin to understand what it means to be “In Christ Jesus”. The scripture says, ”Be transformed by the renewing of your mind that you may know the perfect and acceptable will of God” and also, “You shall know Him for you shall see Him as He is.” It is in “knowing Him”, that we see Him and reflect his Features. My Newsletter will provide memory aids to accelerate the learning process of knowing God. Your motivation, dedication, prayers, and communication with God will ensure your eternal success. Gene Dodge P.S. Who is our Elegant God? List some of His qualities from a-z if you desire. A=Almighty , He numbers the stars, and suspends them in the Heavens ON NOTHING. I=indwelling, He lives in a high and lofty place AND with those of a humble and repetitive heart.
