Star ratings:
The star rating of a hotel depends upon the quality of facilities and services. The ratings on the outside of the building are based on objective facilities and a service provided assessment. The star rating will be a quantitative measure used to determine the price range and the tax obligation of a hotel. It starts from a single star and usually ends at five stars, but today we hear about six and seven star hotels also, but they are rare. A one star hotel has rooms without bathroom or shower, and will not have restaurants. A two star hotel has few fully en-suite rooms, but no restaurant. A three star hotel has fully en-suite rooms with a restaurant for cooked breakfasts and dinners. It has 24 hour reception which allows you to stay out late.
A four star hotel has all the facilities of the three star hotel along with mini bars in bedrooms, large public areas and 24 room service. These hotels are a bit expensive during peak business time. A five star hotel is usually the ultimate in luxury and very few hotels achieve this rating. Some of the most reknowned five star hotels are The Ritz, Savoy, Hilton and many other hotels. They have the ultimate implementation of luxury and service. We do have six star and seven star hotels which would be simply unimaginable, but rare. The world famous Burj-Al-Arab and Guilin are some of the seven star hotels in the world.
