Demdaco Willow Tree is a collection of angels and figurines designed with artistic expressions and gestures that represent our own human character. They express sentiments that make us feel warm and cared for, and are designed to convey these sentiments through their body signals and gesticulation. Created by Susan Lordi in January 2000 with only one figurine, 15 angels and the Nativity, the collection now showcases over 105 different Willow Tree angels and treasured figurines that simply portray compassion, elegance and beauty.

The inspiration for the Collectables Company was the human emotion. Susan Lordi, a gifted and talented artist, created these figurative sculptures as an intimate and personal look at human sentiment and felt drawn into her cast of wonderful characters. She hand carves every original piece, and her sculptures continue to evolve just as the human emotion does as well. She is inspired by what makes us feel emotion, whether that is our health, well-being or a loved one. She explores movement in her art, catching a dynamic attitude of expressions through body gestures with an unpretentious design.

There are things that inspire us, or evoke emotion in us every day, and each Willow Tree piece conveys this inspiration through its crafted expressions and motions. Each piece suggests peace and serenity through this compelling conveyance of human feelings, yet holds true to a design of simple elegance and the space it occupies with equal verve.

Angelic figurative art is becoming more and more popular with some of the finest figurative artworks in public places and private collections in the 21st century. These characters are not just "figurines," they are heart warming and alive with such amazing life-like feel about them.

Individual pieces are designed and sculpted and are all original works of art.
Each figure is made from porcelain, and is columnar in shape, much like that of a tree. The figures not only express sentiments of love and warmth, they often carry natural objects or animals that serve as metaphors for human merits and persona: for example, a figure will carry rosemary to symbolize remembrance or a bird to symbolize healing.

The newest additions to the Willow Tree collection began in February 2007. The collection includes the first angel to feature detailed clothing: A Tree, A Prayer - this figurine is the only angel among the new releases. The new release collection also features the first coloured Willow Tree statuette, A Christmas Story. Other sentimental pieces include Child of My Heart and Congratulations; both pieces are ideal for a new mum or anyone with an addition to the family. Finally, the new releases include a number of hanging ornaments, including an angel, and the all-new collection of Willow Tree memory boxes.

A favourite among the collection is the Brothers figurine. This valuable and exquisite item is rumoured to be retiring shortly, so those who have not yet picked it up are encouraged to do so as soon as possible. For other retired items, there is always the possibility of purchasing them from another collector. A number of sites exist for the purpose of buying, selling and trading these collectibles: a sort of cyber Willow Tree exchange.
