Cell Phone Batteries

Cell Phone batteries are basically of three different types mainly
• NiCad: This is an older technology which has more or less disappeared from the market today. This battery has number of technical problems and suffers from memory effects.
• NiMH: NiMH is a newer form of technology. It has longer charge duration as compared to the NiCad battery. It does not have any memory effects.
• Li-lon: This is probably the best battery out of the three. It has a long lasting and light battery that does not suffer from any memory effects. The only disadvantage is that it is more expensive as compared to the other two batteries.

Points to consider at the time of choosing your cell phone

• Price: Price of the cell phone is very important. Analog phones are less expensive than the digital phones.
• Transmission Technology: There are three different technologies that a mobile phone can use namely digital, cellular, analog cellular and PCS.
• Function: Functions are very important. Check out the different functions the mobile phone has to offer.
• Battery: Battery is very important as explained earlier. You need to be very precise about this decision.

Some other factors that one needs to consider are

• Weight
• Internet capability
• Talk time
• Stand by time
