Technical education is playing a major role in training people of a country in various technologies. The role of technical education has become significant with the increase in the number of technologies day by the day. Thus, more and more candidates now feel that there are more career opportunities in this field and hence are looking out for ways to attain the education.

There are basically three types of education fields: Education that teaches you ways to pay concern for the betterment of a society is known as Social Education. Education that develops the personality of an individual is called Spiritual Education while education that concerns professional exchange of knowledge with money is known as Vocational education. Technical education is a part of Vocational education.

Technical education covers a wide spectrum of educational areas. Some areas that come under vocational training programs are trade and commerce, medicine and sciences, engineering, agriculture. Technical education also helps a nation to achieve its education goals.

If we look at the world around us, there is hardly any area that is not influenced by the use of technology. Computers, networks, washing machines, ovens, vehicles, software systems are all inventions of technologies and we all know how much dependent we are on them. We are not only personally influenced by these technologies but our professional life is also highly influenced by these technologies as well.

Our need for technology has still not finished. This is the main reason why every time we open up the newspaper to read, we get to know that a new technology has hit the market. Hence, we need manpower to develop and implement these technologies in our present systems. Those who develop and implement these technologies need technical training and this is what the role of technical education is.

As the scope of technologies is seamless so is the scope of job opportunities in the technology field. It is quite obvious that if a nation requires many technologies then naturally it will require those many hands to build and operate these technologies. This, thus, would result in creation of more job opportunities.

The role of technical education is also to provide a nation with human resources to develop its own technologies. Technical education makes an effort to improve the economy of the nation by making it richer, prosperous and resourceful.

Thus, the role of technical education is towards improving the nation's economy and opening up more job opportunities for individuals.
